11 Reasons to Back Devil's Legacy on Kickstarter
by Phoenix Angels Studio (Paid Advertisement),
Devil's Legacy is unique. Imagine a cross between Berserk and Ghost In The Shell, but directed in the style of Go Nagai*, with a bit of Death Note added in for good measure. It's a story worthy of the Dante's Divine Comedy.
What other anime has a spectacularly unique world where Purgatory has been cut off from Heaven and Hell. Billions of souls from through out the ages are now stuck in Purgatory with no way out. Cultures and technologies of different ages overlapped and a varied and incredible universe was created. Imagine if in the Middle Ages there were computers and coaches had been pulled by robot horses!
*Go Nagai is not involved with this project, but his works are a huge influence on the project. Check out the Trailer and you'll definitely see the influence, as well as many homages to his work.
It's epic! The story spans generations, and worlds. The back story starts in the middle ages, and the main events take place in 2025 A.D.
The team behind Devil's Legazy has pedigree! They're former TOEI Animation staff who have worked on One Piece, Dragonball, Gaiking (modern series), Precure, St Seya, Dr. Slump and Arale, Digimon Saga, Magical Do-Re-Mi, Yu-gi-oh and dozen of others.
They're completely independent. The financial objectives of production committees usually dictate how an anime is made, who makes it, and so on. With your help, Devil's Legacy will be funded entirely through Kickstarter and the resulting production will be 100% true to the creators' vision.
Devil's Legacy is the first anime made for the Occulus Rift. In addition to 1080p, 4K and "normal" 3D, owners of an Occulus Rift can completely immerse themselves in Devil's Legacy in a way never before possible.
The extras are amazing! They include this gorgeous artbook as well as...
Full story boards.
Hilarious pillows, and many many more extras for backers....
The fallen corpse of the Archangel Michael, augmented with technology and turned into a Go-Nagai-esque giant robot. How badass is that?!
This is Michael's Protonic Rifle. Seriously badass.
And finally, the art is just gorgeous.

As Slam Dunk reached its final stretch, I can see why this series is considered the sports classic that it is today.― This is the largest batch of Slam Dunk episodes that I've reviewed thus far. Originally, I wanted to review the show in more even seasons, but given its overall pacing and release, it wasn't easy to find a moment where it felt right to stop and start again. However, as we approached ...

Making a sequel to Code Geass is a daunting task. But with its fantastic main character and a story that doesn't undercut what came before, Rozé of the Recapture is on the right track.― Making a sequel to Code Geass—especially one set close to the end of the series—is a daunting task. Any story that involves an ongoing war massively undercuts both the finale of the original anime and the sacrifices ...
