What circumstance?

Ok, I probably caught on a rumor, but supposedly the MC in Turn A was originally supposed to be female, but it got shut down by the higher ups. It's not verified though I'm still foolish enough to believe it. Anime hyper

Looks interesting enough.
I really disliked AGE, so I hope this will be better.
Grew up with Medabots and Beyblade, so the idea of tiny Gundams fighting sounds really fun to me.

The girl, Kousaka China, is cute too.

Sorry mate, I'm not gonna respond to more of your bull. I don't know how to be any clearer but you seriously must be stupid as to not get why a guy watching a supposed shonen/seinen show where 90% of the men look like girls plus seeing them all (together) in manservice scenes would feel awkward to say the least.
No I get why a manbaby would cry foul at slightest drop of something "girly" in a mass market show. How that kind of person would be insecure about other kinds of people liking HIS show. How an insecure person would feel slightly uncomfortable by attractive men who I guess are girly because they have pretty features. I can see how they would be bothered by fanserivce for women, but not at all the tons of fanservice for men.

Oh I get it, I just think it's sad and dumb.

But hey continue defending Age, by not actually defending it. People do really dislike that show because of it's character designs even though no one brings that up anymore.

That's probably the problem with Gundam in general. Too much reverance for Tomino, not enough people willing to take risks with the IP, to take it in some new crazy direction. Less Gundam Seed and more G Gundam.

Gundam 00 kicked that issue in the teeth. Just saying.

This is not for fans, this is Gundam for the lads that get hyped on Yu-Gi-Oh and such, which is about as far from what Gundam is about as you go. That said this basically amounts to a spinoff, and before fans rend their garments over what is ostensibly happening to the franchise we should keep in mind the Gundam Unicorn project and the still-upcoming adaptation of Gundam the Origin. It is not as though "real" Gundam has been abandoned by any stretch of the imagination.

Toy commercials in the form of children's shows? Nothing new here. The customization reminds me of the Gunpla Breaker game. If only you could customize your actual models. Then again, you'd need the skill that these kids have so they won't look ugly. I despised Gunpla Builders but I couldn't stop watching due to the cheese. I mozz watch this, heck I'll provolone I can sit through it! Swiss me luck!

Tell that to the Gunota crowd that's going to be pumped to see which of their favorite kits are going to be getting a makeover. I don't think it's possible to deny the appeal of seeing some of those suits in hand drawn animated form again on TV. In particular the sight of Harry Ord's Gold Custom Sumo weaving it's way through the streets in the PV is a sight for sore eyes and it evens looks like they might be using some classic Gundam locations for the battle stages. I don't see how this can't be mecha porn fan-service for old fans as well.

It's IMO on first glance a smarter way to go about trying to appeal to kids in Japan and adults as well than AGE's attempt to vaguely retell the original story online with a more kid friendly spin on it. Instead it just forgoes the whole war thing entirely which was a key point that was made on a survey as to why the target demographic wasn't keen on age and targets something they do understand in arcade games. The kids get something more familiar and the older fans get something more familiar in the re-imagined classic designs.

Hmm. I don't think anything you've said actually contradicts what I was saying. The show has its appeal, certainly. It's also true the robots are all this has in common with the mainline Gundam anime of years past. That makes it entirely unambitious whether it does what it does well or not.

"My children's toy commercial is so much better than your children's toy commercial!"

Really? You're going to act like Gundam was never all about marketing and selling toys and this is not a "real" Gundam series?

How pathetically geeky and flippant. Associating not liking girly things and manservice with 'insecurity'. What a bloody twit you are throwing that card. People like you only see things in black and white, if anything. God knows you can't make the blind see and I'm not gonna waste my time with you any further trying to make you, because at the end of the day, it's only a cartoon and I don't have to like it or dislike it. Sadly, geeks like you think they have an equation figured out on how people think, all you've done make assumptions, you're as clueless as they come.

Most anime that are made are made to sell and make money. You don't win points for pointing this obvious truism out. That doesn't make the merit of every cartoon equal, sorry.

Why is everyone so hyped to see Origin? Sure UC0079 was awesome but this new series is an anime adaptation of a manga adaptation of UC0079 with very minor differences.

I won't lie, I will watch it, but I'm not as excited. I'd rather another AU or an extension of existing universes. Gundam X surely could use a prequel, sequel or side story.

Getting bent out of shape over "girly" things is generally a pretty good sign of insecurity.

I love it when a quality AU series comes along too. This is good too though. Origin retells a familiar story but with evolved storytelling, and I like what I've seen of the manga so far. I'm unsure whether the animated take will prove to be as interesting an update as Space Battleship Yamato 2199 is shaping up to be, but Origin is a quality work and like Yamato the original Gundam is good enough to update for the viewers of today.
