More power to him. His music is balls imo but anime fans getting upset that someone likes anime is always a head scratcher. Would it be better if more people hated anime?

Yeah I don't understand why anime fans would hate Souja Boy just because he like anime. I know a lot of celebs that like/love anime.

Also I remember back that I mention Megan Fox was a big anime fan. Also I do know of one pornstar who happen to be a big fan of anime.

...Should Gackt really be on that list? A Japanese person liking anime isn't really too impressive. Especially one who works in the industry.

Wow; Robert Pattinson has good taste. He seems like a much more interesting person than I would expect one of the stars of Twilight to be.

The hate stems more from the guys other exploits besides appearing at a ruddy Z-List carpet walk.

Any chance for some elaboration on the bolded part? I've heard some thoughts on people for the other stuff but that's the first I've heard on that one.

He created a fanfilm called Fullmetal Fantasy, using enough IP of Fullemetal Alchemist to cause the higher ups at FUNimation to notice. He claims that Hiromu Arakawa approved of it.

Ohhh, that. I've heard of Fullmetal Fantasy (really wish I could have seen it somehow), and the whole legal issues with it. I wasn't aware it created such problems that FUNi almost stopped hiring him for stuff though.

Borderline IP copyright violations and unauthorized work where you have some material relationships would be good grounds to fire someone or at best, demote them abit in the totem pole. If you look at Vic Migweld....Vic Mangin.....Vicky Poo's resume, he hasn't had too much leading a/or high profile roles since Fullmetal Alchemist.

Let's also not forget that the Hetalia fandom vehemently campaigned for Vic not to attain a prominent role in the anime dub. He still got a role as a bit character. And Vic claimed in the past that he "personally" talked to CLAMP in getting reassurances that a character in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles was NOT GAY despite the fact that CLAMP loves to use gay undertones in many of their works.

Well this is the best one I could find. But look at other celebs not Gackt.

He didn't have many leading/ high profile roles before Alchemist to begin with, really. He's only gotten more lead roles at Funi since FMA. Him not booking many large roles there seems more likely due to his location, since he used to live in Houston and maybe wasn't as willing to drive 4 hours and back to Funimation to record as often as other ADV VAs, especially when he could just record at ADV. And now he lives in California, so taking a flight from LA to Dallas every time he has to record for a large role is even less practical. I think you may be making assumptions of what happened or how serious the situation actually was.

I don't know the guy personally or anything, but from everything I've seen of him at cons I've been to and video of cons he's been at, a lot of the venomous hate seems exaggerated and undeserved. Seriously, does anyone have like video of the whole Tsubasa debacle or whatever, because I haven't seen enough proof to convince me that much of that situation (Or most claims really) isn't anything more than rumorous, exaggerated slander. I don't think Gakt and Masi Oka really counts. And asides from like, Dragonball, most of them are pretty mainstream animes that even most people who don't know what anime is wi-HOLY WTF HULK HOGAN LIKES POKEMAN ONE PIECE AND KINNIKUMAN?!

That one honestly looks like trolling to me. Especially since it's someone like Hulk.

Also, is Hayley Williams really considered a celebrity? I've never heard of her before.

Sadly, I beg to differ. At least I give Soulja Boy some respect that all his songs at least differentiate from each other in theme and some are fun(ny) to drop in house parties.

Wakka Flockka Flame on the other hand has some of the worst "rhymes," horrible sense of rhythm matching his beats (as if he isn't wearing headphones in the studio) and all his songs are devoted to the drug game or gun talk. Dude is just horrible at it. And then there's Lil' B and all his annoying swag tracks.

As a fan of true hip-hop, they both suck! I guess he'll do anything for attention even if it means walking the red carpet for the FMA movie which I really want to see.

Him walking down the aisle to a movie premiere he was invited to isn't really him vying for attention.

Well, I could buy Hogan liking Kinnikuman. It involves wrestling and it's main heyday was during the 80s, and Hogan did wrestle in Japan during the early 80s... So I can buy that Hogan heard about and probably watched Kinnikuman during his time in Japan.

Soulja Boy's music sucks but as long that he is kept away from a potential live action film soundtrack of any live action anime adaptation, then it's all good.
