Man, I know it won't happen but if they could only publish those last 8 volumes of Nodame Cantabile.

Oh yes, now that I finally broke down a couple months ago and read scanlations for the last 5 or so volumes of School Rumble.

...Though having done so, I'm glad I didn't waste my money. If ever there were a series that went downhill fast...

This is meaningless unless they publish versions of the unreleased volumes. I already own all of the print versions of School Rumble. Release the rest, and I will buy.

Frankly, I am ready to go all e-manga as I just don't have the shelf space anymore.

It's interesting that Princess Resurrection is being resurrected, but if you want my money you're going to have to put out volumes we don't already own in physical book form.

It would certainly be nice to have some sort of official statement regarding the unpublished volumes of each series, whether it's "we might finish these series digital-only if sales are good", or "we have no plans for further volumes." I got about 10 volumes into School Rumble and dropped it after it was clear they weren't going to finish it.

When I saw Yakumo I thought "something about SR for the first time in years?" and then I read the title.....

I don't think I will ever give up hope that the Alive series will make it to the west in print. This is fueling those feeble wishes.

Still gonna keep wishing, but nice to see it might at least get a full digital release.

I hope these will get a physical print, I had the opportunity to buy several volumes of the School Rumble Manga back when one of the nearby towns FYE's (may it rest in peace) still had one and they sold manga in it as well. Me being the dumb middle schooler I was didn't buy it (either that or they didn't have volume 1 I don't remember which). Anyway Then Borders went under (The only store I found think if that sold Tokyo Pop Manga) then Tokyo Pop and then finally FYE went under taking away all my chances to buy it in person. I know buying online is an option but I've had very very few good experiences with it. (In fact the only good experience I had ordering online was when I did it in a store.) So I never tried buying it online. Anyway, long story short if they release it physically I'll finally get to make up for the mistake I made all those years ago and be able to proudly display school Rumble on my shelf. So come on physical copy!

I don't know; I still wish it was animated even after I finished reading it. Real downhill was the season two filler, you know the episodes I mean. The real material was even stranger but it was at least still funny. Kind of.

How much would I pay for Scholl Rumble digitally? I love the art, I love the characters, I love the gags, the series itself? I don't know. But the image of Yakumo- and Eri, got to be fair even now- still pleases me to this day so it must mean something to me.

Del Rey previously released 13 volumes for School Rumble

Really? I have the vols 14-16 omnibus here on the shelf, clearly released by Del Rey. Is it not included in the digital release?

Alive is seriously underrated. I read that series awhile ago and so mad that it was only half finished. While I had hoped by some miracle it would a physical re-release, I guess digital is better than nothing. I hope they actually complete the series and release all the volumes for it. It's a fantastic series.

hope this means there's a chance of them being printed. kaibutsu oujo is a personal favorite of mine because of how much it reminds me of scooby doo

I believe Kodansha USA will upload what has been published onto the service and nothing more. Those hoping to see the rest of School Rumble, Suzuka, Nodame Cantabile, etc. should quash those hopes right now. Of course, I'd love to be wrong, especially in regards to Nodame. (I love School Rumble but ultimately decided to sell the manga series off. I still need to sell Vol. 1-8; sold 9-16 some time ago.)

The interesting implication from this announcement would be that Kodansha USA "renewed" the rights for these series, at least on the digital end. I don't think these were digitally re-released before, unless I missed earlier announcements. They have been doing this with other older Del Rey catalogue titles like Basilisk, Amefurashi and Mushishi.

It would be nice, but we should never expect any publishing company to admit that a series is cancelled (due to low sales) as that would all but cannibalize any remaining sales potential - as low as that likely is - for leftover stock.

I know Princess Resurrection and School Rumble were both available digitally on JManga before that site shut down (only as far as the English versions had been released in print, though). I'm not sure about the others.

Urgh, JManga. They didn't go any farther than digitally publishing a portion of what was already available in print, if I remember right.

I am kind of excited about Nodame. I am hoping that if they see good numbers in the digital release of the series, they'll go ahead and finish it digitally. Although, I'm not terribly optimistic, as it seems Kodansha has gotten off to a really rocky start in the western market, and they don't seem to be advertising anything other than their already-big-series like Sailor Moon and Attack on Titan.
