Here's hoping it's at least an alternative-world story, because the original Higurashi had a really good ending.

pretty sure it will be a new series with (mostly) new characters in the same fashion umineko is new compared to higurashi, now, I wonder if twe will get lambdadelta's arc, which was hinted a few times in umineko.
