I saw Matsuoka and was like "Please don't tell me Yoshitsuga is voicing Touta..", and I'm glad that's not the case.
Still iffy on the character designs though,

I know virtually nothing about this series, but is it just me, or is "UQ holder" a really lame name. "UQ" means nothing to people who haven't seen the series, and "UQ holder" just sounds really... boring. Like if Pokemon was called "Pokemon trainer". Or Naruto was called "ninja star thrower"

UQ Holder is the name of the organization in the manga. A lot of titles mean nothing to anyone who has not seen the particular shows. Dragonball? One Piece? FLCL?

True, but if you are gonna have a title like that- it's good to at least sound catchy, or make you want to know more. Dragonball makes me wanna know more. Fooly Cooly rolls off the toung. UQ holder doesn't do either of those. For me at least. It's a nitpick for sure, but something that pops up in my head whenever I hear about the series.
