Dead series I guess.
Shame. Was really hoping for a 4th game more in line with the first two instead of Wars. Level 5 has a problem with dropping things, unless its name is Yokai Watch, really gooddamn hard.

We saw how this went for Medabots. Not like this wasn't slowly dying anyway, but ouch.

I guess we'll see how this goes for them.

The last part of LBX media came out in Japan three years ago next month. The franchise has been over for a while.

It's nice to see new LBX media, now if only we can get the 2nd 3DS game localized.

To be fair, Medarot was never popular to begin with. The previous installment, Medarot 9 sold 30K total, and Girls Mission sold 22K.

I don't play mobage, but I'll check the anime out. Wish it had the girls from the anime though, as opposed to the robots. Maybe as a cameo or DLC.

Another franchise has died by the gaccha. For the love of god, Japanese developers need to start making video games again and not slot machine/gaccha/money pit #120999+
or better yet accelerate the development of casinos in Japan so that people who want to gamble can gamble, and the people who want real games from Japan can have them aplenty again.

The only mainline Medarot games to not sell 100k in Japan have been 5, 8 and 9. 1-3 all sold over 200k, with the peak coming with Medarot 2's ~500k. Just because the property isn't popular now doesn't mean it "never popular to begin with." Its current status is the result of a small-time publisher unwilling to spend the money required to keep the franchise competitive.

Are they seriously turning a franchise that was a kids show into an ecchi battle show? I don't have a problem with ecchi shows but that is a strange decision. Also I like the look of the Joker character though I kind of feel sorry for her since she looks like she could have been in the kids show.

What Primus said. There was more context and info from their comment than I could have given on numbers and popularity for the series.

Even so with 9 and GM, 9 was above GM. GM is still the weakest, recent entry. (And technically, fw for GM was 20k and 22k for 9.)

For series that already hurting or coming to a close, throwing in baseless fanservice isn't going to help. I have not seen it help once, and in fact, the more focused and pointless fanservic efforts for other companies has only hurt them. (Look at Gust.)

And I agree with Chrono1000. They could have started a new franchise; don't know why they're going the ecchi route for LBX.
