I don't remember an article like this in the years past. If there were, sorry; regardless, thank you for having this up. I appreciate having this kind of information archived and out there. I had my share of tears for several of these people who passed away, but I feel it's important for everyone to know anyone who possibly what a part of something important to them may not be around anymore. Again, thank you.

We do actually have one every year that we post on 12/31. You can see them here:
animenewsnetwork.com/search?q=In+Memoriam#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=In%20Memoriam&gsc.page=1

And you're welcome, we know we have readers who do appreciate having these up every year to remember who we lost.

It’s nice to see you also included Bill Paxton. He wasn’t really in the anime scene, technically speaking, but he still left a huge impact on pop culture and was taken too soon.

Like 2016, 2017 wasn’t good on lives. In addition to all the famous people who either are no longer with us or who we lost all respect for, both my grandfather and surrogate brother died in April. So to all who have passed away, you will be missed, and long live all of you.
