I'd just ask my hero all about sakuga, this is the kind of guest that might pull me out there.

Wow, after so long, it's great to see Iso getting out there more, given his long absence and sporadic credits post-Coil (which was apparently a very arduous production for him). He's been more active, recently, but I never thought he'd go as far as doing a convention appearance stateside. It would certainly be great to be there.

I've been waiting for Iso to direct another story since 2007. He has made the occasional appearance on the staffs for some recent shows. I wonder if this new project will be anime-original like Coil. He peddled the treatment for that show for seven years before finally getting the NHK and Madhouse on board. He had some choice words for the powers-that-be in the anime industry, and their tendency to turn up their noses on original works.

"Iso says that original works are not particularly welcomed or commended by the anime industry, which was originally created to animate manga in the first place. Like when everyone gets together to make an original anime but it doesn't sell... he ventures that perhaps this industry is not suited for making original projects."

Surprised to see Sushio mentioned in this post. I didn't know he had such a long history with the industry. (His direction of the music video pairing Momoiro Clover Z and KISS is terrific fun.)

Maybe Iso can join Studio 3Hz which focuses on original productions.
