Man...can Aniplex USA kinda just go away? I would like to buy these two series on Home Release someday and not have to pay an arm and a leg.

Also Funimation usually dubs harem comedies better than other companies so odds are they won't have this now, that saddens me.

I don't like Aniplex USA for its overpriced set that has 6 episodes (half season).

I mean, $60-80 per 6 episode set (used to be 4-episode set, iirc)?! It's one thing if it's the complete set for that price, but with this, it's a nope-train to the nopesville.

I always look at it this way.

Why would I pay Aniplex USA 70 dollars (With Shipping and tax) when I could pay Funimation the exact same amount and get DOUBLE the episode amount/content. Hell Funimation usually has some fun extras they include too like commentaries and behind the scenes stuff so you usually get double the content for the same price.

That's a simple cost analysis almost anyone would jump on.

If Aniplex USA went away, then the only option left would be for Aniplex Japan to stream their shows on Netflix, which means 0 chance of overseas BD/DVD release.

Hey, whatever gives the industry in L.A. more work outside of Netflix originals.

Awesome. Wish Aniplex would get more shows. Love the quality of their releases. Don't have to deal with the shit encodes from Failmation.

Like everything you said here is wrong. Many Netflix exclusive anime have gotten an overseas Blu-Ray release. Many shows produced by Aniplex don’t get licensed by Aniplex of America.

Not surprised considering they were promoting it on their fb page.

As for whether or not I'll buy it remains to be seen. I'm not a fan of their way of pricing but when it comes down to it I'd simply look past that and go for what I want.

I buy Anime for fun & enjoyment. Aniplex of America ( and PonyCanyon US ) take the fun & enjoyment out of it for me by pushing the cost per episode up well beyond my pain point. Suffice it to say that I won't support their releases in streaming or physical media.

Well I don't think we have anything to worry about when it comes to ponycan. They havnt had a release since last July. So it's safe to assume that they have bowed out of the home media game.

Is Aniplex of America really allowed to stream their content on Crunchyroll (which I believe is owned by Sony through Funimation)?

QFT...such a rip off, i own a lot of anime from sentai and funimation and the few items i did pick up from aniplex outprices all of it.
think just all 8 Sao(+both movies) , 4 asterisk war , 4 persona 3 movies and 2 p4 the golden + the p 5 short movie that i own(all being the limited editions) cost in total close too 1600 bucks

I like sentai's pick ups since their collectors editions rock . never been disappointed with any i own be it danmachi or monster musume or infinite stratos 2, funimation doesnt have many. although i did manage too get their rias pillow case with the release of highschool dxd born!

Sony PICTURES owns Funimation and Sony MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT owns Aniplex which from my understanding, please correct me if I'm wrong, the two operate independently and does things their own ways. Besides, Aniplex has a very good relationship with CR so 95% of all their shows always end up on CR.
