Finally, there some hope for anime based games. Lets face it the recent Gundam games have been pitful at best, I am so glad to see someone make a game based on an anime and put some original ideas into it. Keeping the basic core of the show (2 Samurai and a girl look for an another samurai) but they (Bandai and Grasshopper Manufacture) decided to give us a game to be proud of. The whole mixing fightning styles is definetly a cool aspect to think about and not only that the hip hop influence of the game also are present. Also just from reading the previews you spent time looking for work so you can eat much like the show. Hopefully more anime games (at least the one that get ported to US) will be like this one, original but keeping the spirit of the show we love so much. BTW who do you think the secret samurai will end up being?
Till next time,

I think there definetly a noticeable difference between games now on the PS2, the graphic are probably not the best considering how many games (God of war, FF, GT) have push the system limits and this game doesn't. Also towards the end of the life cycle of a system I think we (The Buyers) expect more since we expect the developers to be able to tap into the max power of a system. That why I am not that bum about my 360 games, they look fairly good. But I recogize that it will take time to get the full power out of the system. I think this game will have to make it mark with the gameplay if it's to make it big. And from what I have seen that is a good thing.

Really excited about this release! The graphics don't look too great, but within time, maybe it'll be touched up. I watched the preview for the game on the last Samurai Champloo DVD and I really was squealing in delight Anime dazed.

One thing's for sure -- I won't get the game for the graphics' sake.

They look very...shoody and none too great. I'll most likely get it if it's a fighting game (alone -- I suck at RPGs) and for the fact I like the show.

If you hunt around abit, you'll find that this game scored well in quite a number of Japanese magazines. The only one that I can remember is Famitsu magazine, which gave it an 8/10. Not bad considering most anime-based games blow wind. Anime smile

The game looks like it's "clunky" from the video that I watched of it...

Sweet! A Samurai Champloo game. The series was amazing. I can't wait to get the game. Although the graphics look shaky I really don't care as long as the game-play is good.

I'm not so sure about time. Remember, this is already released in Japan, so those are probably images from the final version of the game, not development. I'm not so sure it's just because we're used to much better graphics these days; those do look pretty rough. But whatevs, graphics don't make the game. It could be just bad rendering on the website's side. o_O

I could have sworn that they had a small article on this game in a recent Newtype and the graphics looked alot better than these. It might just be a bad transfer or something. I think it will by no means be as blocky as these screens.

Ghost Recon has insane graphic and level of detail. Oh yeah the game isn't bad either.

And I agree the graphic looks like crap. I would have expected more since the anime's animation was really fluid. I've played the GANTZ game and the graphic looks better than this.

The Naruto fighters on the Gamecube are pretty good...well, at least 3, and 4. The first one didn't really have enough characters, and they were still tweaking the engine in the first 2 games.

Unfortunately, it's gonna be a while until the 3rd and 4th game comes over to the US. Fortunately, it's easy to play import GC games.

The graphic do look very good, but I haven't had a chance to play the game, lots of game look pretty but they end up being chunky and hard to play. But I don't think that will be the case, for GRAW and I am looking forward to it.

I didn't know Gantz had a game, is it PAL only? What system? Xbox, PS2? How was the gameplay? Samurai Champloo needs to have a strong showing there.
BTW another anime game that pop into my mind is Berserk for Dreamcast, which at least gave the anime folks a chance to play the series after the anime ends. Straight hack and Slash but that what you kinda expected when ya bought it.

I'm not really a gamer, but when an anime game brings something new to the table that's not in an already wonderful tale, there's a spiritual draw to it. Just hope it is more adventure style play with OVA scenes interlaced.

For some reason when I saw the screens, I felt like playing Tenchu Wrath Of Heaven... with that said, the graphics look pretty dated, but that is true that the graphics don't make the game, just like the anime with dated animation that have great stories. I just hope it doesn't suck. It looks clunky, but I won't judge it until I get a chance to play it. Is the Cowboy Bebop game cancelled?
