Chihayafuru deserves this.
"The ratings do not count recordings that viewers watch later. " They should really start counting that, in modern society it should account for a big chunk. |

I don't know how where we are in the anime compares to the end of the manga, but it certainly seems like it is getting enough love to not make us wait six years for the next installment.

Weird, two talkback threads were created for this article. Anyway, like I said in the other one, I didn't know Chihayafuru 3 got such good ratings for a late night time slot. I hope they're enough to convince the production committee to give the show a 4th season.
Episode 22 covered chapters 135-136 of the manga. The latest chapter is 223, which means there's already enough material not only for a fourth season, but also most of a fifth season. |

Why is it even on late night tv? The tv producer should have some shame and put it on in the evening.

In the US Nielsen reports "live+3" ratings measuring total viewing over 72 hours. https://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/how-does-live-3-in-television-metrics.htm Advertisers have been loathe to pay for this extra audience so the networks have been slow to adopt "live+3." Probably the advertisers expect people watching on a delayed basis will fast-forward through the commercials.
