Usually I'm like "ugh, another Godzilla?" But, Bones and Orange...working together...that's amazing. Also the character designs look fun, this might turn out well.

The link for studio Orange sends you to the anime adaptation of Orange shoujo manga instead.

Anyway, I'm in for anything Bones, and since it's a movie (presumably with some actions and destructions), animation will be wild.

I hope Toho doesn't have the kind of restrictions like they did with Monster Planet. Apparently, the prequel novel had a lot more monster stuff but Toho didn't want it in the films.

spoiler[Cosmic Horror Ghidora was great though.]

But the article says it's a TV series?

"Godzilla Singular Point anime series"
"Atsushi Takahashi (...) is directing the series"
"Toh Enjoe (...) is supervising and writing the scripts in his first television project"
"The series will also premiere on Tokyo MX and other channels in April 2021"

I'm hopefully optimistic.
But then again, that's how I was the last time.

An anime series? This sounds interesting, I always wondered if an anime show about Godzilla would work, a movie made sense but it'll be interesting how they manage to do it. I mean, there were two Godzilla cartoons made in the west, the Hanna-Barbera one (the one with Godzooky) which I only saw a couple of time in reruns, and the one based on the 1998 movie, which I remember seeing as a kid however I don't remember much about it, although it was much better than the movie, and it had a cool opening.
I think Godzilla would work as a monster-of-the-week type of show.

The Empire of Corpses is whatever but fine enough info so far. Those Urobucher films were trash. Only room to grow I say.

Have you seen the design of Godzilla? Now try to find animators who are willing to animate it without simplifying the design.

Well, only place to go from the last Netflix Godzilla is up. Just thinking of that third movie makes me feel ill for reasons that I'm pretty sure I still can't discuss due to NDAs.

Not too sure I'm crazy about the character designs, but I trust in Bones and Orange to deliver a quality show. About time we have a Godzilla anime.
