Wow, this is really cool. The TV series was pretty decent (even if it wasn't nearly as good as Giant Robo), but anything Imagawa does, I'll definitely watch.

Woah, is that Kenji Murasame that I spotted in the trailer? I'd see it just for that.

Yeah, it's Kenji. He's in the TV series, as well, but he's not the same immortal badass from Giant Robo (sadly).

Also, I'm pretty sure that was Giant Robo's arm in the trailer.

I'll have to check out the TV series. Since the new Giant Robo anime is such a departure from the OVA (it seems more in line with the live-action program), it's probably the closest I'll get to more of that type of show.

Where did you spot Giant Robo's arm in the trailer?

I didn't get the chance to see the new series at all, yet, but I was saddened to learn that it wasn't related to the OVA, or directed by Imagawa. The TV series is mostly pretty good, but not quite great. The first disc is good, but the series drags a bit in the second. I haven't seen it all the way through, yet, but I hear the ending's pretty good. Also, some other GR-characters show up, like Dr. Franken (Von Vogler in GR), though like Kenji they're not the "same" characters.
