Gunslinger Stratos 3 is also ending its arcade services at the same time. It doesn't have a home version, and I wonder if this'll effect the one announced as coming in 2020 (which obviously never did).

Writing was on the wall for Dissidia when content updates ended earlier this year, but maybe they got out when the getting was good, considering what COVID has done to arcades.

It seems like the game was doing relatively well in arcades even after the console release, as apparently it was still in the top 20 revenue rankings before they announced the content stop. But maybe there was some kind of sharp drop, or dampened enthusiasm after the home port wasn't well received - it's a Team Ninja game and Dead or Alive 6 ended support close to the same time, so I wonder if it was Koei Tecmo getting spooked and cutting perceived losses. Again, since COVID got really bad around then, it sort of worked out, I guess.

Not only did the arcades all shut down due to covid , but the pc community was illegally distributing all the dlc content amongst eachother via discord since launch on steam..

The pc community is toxic af and illegally distributes the content they did release amongst eachother. I can only assume that this lead to this decision as the arcades are all closed for who knows how long and they aren't making money off the steam game.

That said, not sure why they would shut everything down for steam players. Hope they do not.
