This is surprising. Is it too much to hope that they might acquire and dub the OVAs?

Sadly, I'm gonna have to say yes to that question, because this is 100% just Discotek sharing their streaming rights with Funimation. Discotek could pick them up in the future, but probably wouldn't dub them.

On the bright side, we may be seeing more Discotek titles streaming on Funimation soon.

Correction: This is directly through TMS just like with Lupin Part 4 & subtitled Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas on the site and also Lupin Part 5 on HiDive.

They had nothing to do with the OVAs and whoever wants it has to deal with the manga publisher since they were sole producer for it.

Glad to see it. This is one of my favorites. And the dub is great too aside from the yikesberg that is Kensei.

Interesting. I wasn't aware that TMS was licensing out streaming rights for some of their shows separately. Discotek tosses their shows around to so many different streaming platforms anyway that I just figured it must've been them.

Hopefully this and Discotek's release will do well enough to give the OVAs a chance at being licensed.

I just hope this means a certain detective anime will come back to Funimation if they’re streaming TMS titles

With Funimation getting "Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple" back,I hope they also do dub the OVAs into English. I think they deserve this and it's a shocking bit of neglect that Funimation did when they still had this anime. Now that they have it back,I hope they rectify this situation. I'd like that a lot.
