Well, this chinches it. We are in another world! First, there is the Mandella effect, then there were enough votes to get Fruit of Evolution daily streaming reviews and now S1 of Peter Grill was popular enough to get a second season, none of which should have been physically possible in the universe I was in until now...

I think you may be on to something...
Season 1 definitely didn't exist in my world, I would have remembered an anime with a name as stupid as "Peter Grill."

I remember the teaser at the end of season 1 for new stories but never in my wildest imagination did I think this would actually get a season 2.

Can't wait to see more of Peter trying to get out of being a cheating horndog and women continuing to force themselves on him.

You love to see it. So many of these great series deserve a sequel. Glad this one got it.

Alright! I was hoping for a second season! But I did already start reading the manga. Still, excited.

Even though I know the reason for it - the flood of money coming into the industry from western streaming services - it still irks me that stuff like this gets a second season while much more popular shows like Ballroom e Youkoso, SukaSuka and (ugh) RokuAka - bash it all you want, it was a hit - and Ajin-chan wa Kataritai never got second seasons because they had the misfortune of debuting just a couple of years too early. I have gone from being happy that a couple of admittedly mediocre series that I personally liked getting second seasons to now being sad like everyone else. Hey, since there is so much cash going around, does it mean that we will get the final season of March Came in Like a Lion? Come on folks if you can greenlight bottom feeder stuff like this, you can conclude the story for a near-classic.

As a manga fan it's not so much the ecchi that keeps me going but the comedy and references to other series is what I find so funny about the series. This was indeed a big surprise.

Ok. Now can we get season seasons for Dorohedoro and Baccano already?

Keep in mind, people, that how good, bad, or trashy a series is has little correlation to whether or not it gets additional seasons.

This is not something that I was eagerly anticipating, but I did finish the first series and did find it amusing, so I'll probably watch it.

I'd take another season of Interspecies Reviewer any day over Peter's Grill

My complaint isn't so much the quality or content. Quite the contrary, I actually enjoy some of the shows that lots of others claim aren't very good. Instead, my problem is that I saw absolutely no evidence that Peter Grill was popular, even among niche fandoms. Granted, I am not an industry expert or anything close but I heard absolutely nothing about this series during its run - except for references to how bad it was - and then not even that after it was over. And it ended over a year ago, meaning that this likely wasn't even a "quick turnaround" renewal like I'm Standing on a Million Lives and Our Last Crusade or Rise of a New World were. Also with the former the anime sparked a ton of manga sales, and for the latter light novels are popular in Japan (plus there was "I am following this even though it isn't very good" chatter regarding the anime in the west).

So it is less like "why is this bad (in my opinion) anime getting a second season" and more "what on earth is the basis for its getting a second season." And yes, wishing that this cash influx happened just a few years ago. Oh had Fantasy of Grimgar and Ash been made in this era for example ...

Agree.... Series like Grimgar and Ash and Demi-chan wa Kataritai would have definitely gotten a second season if they had been released during this time. Lots of series are getting that treatment (getting more seasons) now than 2-3 years ago. One of those series I'm happy it got one was Shadow House (thank god the adaptation came during this time or else I don't think it would have gotten one).

I haven't watched the anime (but did read the manga up to around the start of the Goblin arc), but I'm pretty sure Peter Grill is infinitely cheaper to animate than a lot of the shows people are proposing get a second season in the comments.
Also, even without a vocal fanbase, sex sells so they probably feel pretty secure in getting their money back on a second season.
