Great to hear Edgar Wright’s an executive producer for the series as I really enjoyed the live-action movie

Now, this is something I wasn't expecting, but I'm glad it's happening anyway. And with Science SARU? There isn't a better studio I can think of that would do this justice other than them. Surprised

Exact opposite for me. I hope it's an actual adaption of the comic rather than the movie. I hated the movie and the comic is much better.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The Animation - 2010. Now a reality.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BitByGeWGxU

The show will only make sense if the setting, now a period setting, is kept but the references will be prehistoric to incomprehensible to the anime-only audience of 2023/24. Not that that is the audience the show can ever hit.

I will literally END THE WORLD if they don't bring Michael Cera back to reprise his just kidding I don't give a f--k. Looking back at the movie et al, the music just felt too...indy. But I'm old so roll the dice.

I am super excited for this. I really like the comic, and the movie is a great turning point for my teenage years. I have wanted an accurate adoption for quite some time, and animation is the way to go. I just hope they can as many of the movie cast as possible, since they are really those characters perfectly.

There's a lot of talent lined up behind this, and...picking Science SARU is just almost too much happiness for me. When I saw "Netflix" I cringed a little, which is unfair as they have had some good original properties but they can be very hit-and-miss. Hopefully they just give the principles a big pile of money to make it and get out of the way.

And count me as someone who loves the Edgar Wright version. Still one of the best adaptations ever IMO.

Wow, did not see this coming.

I hope they stay faithful to the comic, although I wonder what they might change/expand on.

It would be cool if Netflix can bring Cera back, perhaps for the international dubs the dub voice actors could come back. The movie's neutral spanish dub was pretty well done, Scott/Cera was voiced by the actor who voices Kabuto in Naruto, Lau in Black Butler and Rigby in Regular Show, while Ramona/Winstead has the same voice actress as Faye Valentine, Princess Bubblegum, Ino Yamanaka and Harley Quinn.
I just hope the artsyle will be just like the comic.

Was not expecting this, especially considering how passe the original work is considered these days. Well, at least the animation oughta be good.

Aaaaaaaahhhhh! Oh my gosh!!! First Komi gets a second season, then a new Urusei Yatsura anime series just got announced, and now we're getting a freaking Scott Pilgrim anime series?! Somebody pinch me, I must be dreaming!!!!

Now if a second season of Magical Girl Raising Project adapting the two Restart novels was announced sometime this year, I might just explode out of sheer happiness and excitement. This year is already shaping up to be amazing in terms of anime. Cool

Reading this when I woke up this morning really made my day. The source material is good. The movie was good too but cramp, hope anime can breathe easy like the original comic.
