The concept sounds a little trite, but the creative forces behind it certainly have a pedigree. I'll be interested in giving it a try.

After the disappointment that Vladlove turned out to be, I can't say I'm looking forward to another Oshii/Nishimura collaboration, but I guess the fact that they're adapting someone else's story might curb their worst tendencies.

When I first saw the cover art when this was first announced, there was a split second hope that this is a sequel to The Twelve Kingdoms but no it is just the same artist.

While I am not the biggest fan of fantasy, I will still give this a shot.

It kind of sounds like shadows of The Hunger Games and The Last Airbender with some vampire stories. It would take a master storyteller to make it good.
