Magu-chan was a fun and cute series, sad seeing it go. Anyway, they adding two series? Nothing else is ending

I loved this series when it started but after a while it began to fizzle out. I still kept reading chapters every once in a while and reading the ending still hit surprisingly hard. It was a good run and I hope the mangaka gets another to write a series on Jump.

See ya, Magu-chan. It was nice meeting you.

It's a pity that Magu-Chan is ended (or probably axed due to being ranked almost bottom on ToC and selling less than Me&Roboco) while High School Family stays and will have more chapters, despite that the recent volume of HSF is selling less than Magu-Chan's recent volume. I feel more sader is that Magu-Chan may never get an anime adaptation while Roboco and probably HSF may get an anime adaptations in the nearly future.

Speaking of the ending, insert "it's a terrible day for rain." Magu-Chan is even trending at #7 on JP Twitter. I will really miss Magu-Chan.

Dr. Stone's close enough to a conclusion that they may be adding the second series pre-emptively.

There has been an open slot since Candy Flurry and Nine Dragons' Ball Parade were canceled. Only PPPPPP was added after that, and it appears they have been filling the empty slot with one-shots.

High School Family is good, once the setting is established. Haven't heard any praise for Roboco though.

As for Magu-chan, I was wondering if writing was on the wall with the last two arcs, since they felt like editorial asked the author to try and add drama to the story. They weren't bad, just a bit out of place compared to the overall tone. The final chapter is excellent though.

I’m caught up on over half of the series in Jump, and Roboco is consistently one of the best series in the magazine, hands down.

100% agree. I hope Roboco outlives all the other Jump titles

Dr. Stone, it is indeed in its final arc, but I think it still has quite some time to end. If a new title is added and needs slot at the moment, I doubt it's for Dr. Stone.

Roboco, I believe it is quite loved by readers. It's been in the higher rank of ToC every once in a while. I personally think that it is one of the better ones in the gag entries, some chapters are actually very wholesome. Its Jujutsu Kaisen anime ending theme parody also got some positive reception.

My guess for what's ending next is probably Protect Me, Shugomaru. PPPPP seems to be gaining some traction, despite having its times in the lower rank of ToC. I personally find Doron Dororon quite weak so far, but it's too early to say now.

I came so close to reading this series but I got cold feet because I'm still bummed about Cop and Dolphin. I hope Sakamoto Days doesn't end soon because that's just John Wick but his family is still alive and humor added in and I mean that in the best way. How's Ghost Reaper Girl and Me & Roboco? With Dr.Stone and maybe My Hero Academia Vigilantes ending soon I need something else to replace those 2.

Actually that slot's been filled since the last batch. Red Hood and NERU were cancelled, and Ayashimon, Protect Me Shugomar, and Doron Dororon came in, bringing the magazine back up to 20 titles.

Though it's worth noting there's no hard rule on how many series JUMP can run at a time - just as it ran for a while with 19, it could run for a while with 21. It's all just dependent on what editorial wants to do.

I thought for sure that this series was safe from cancellation considering how long it ran in WSJ. I never came around to reading it but it looked really cute and wholesome. At least the series got a nice year and a half long run and got up to 77 chapters, that's definitely something worth being proud of. Plus it's getting an additional 41 page long chapter later in the year. Which is something that not a lot of other cancelled manga get to have.

I read all the chapters.

I was shocked when I heard it was ending. I looked back and then realized that it had a pretty good run, despite the nagging feeling that it could have gotten axed at any moment.

Still, the ending was strong.

The story doesn't really develop much and it mostly stays a slice-of-life (with the author giving vibes that they themselves are under constant loneliness and depression). But I loved how wholesome it is and thought it could have sold a whole bunch of plushie merch.

Quite touching final arc and episode.
A fun/sentimental read for two years which, unfortunately, will be never released overseas. I mean, a slice-of-life story with primordial gods? Not quite a future bestseller.

Not really, the drama it was nothing new to the series: it was there since the first episode, not to talk about the chapter of the lost puppy (B.S.), or when Ruru's mother's train get stuck in the snow, as two examples.

From my point of view, with four/three comedies in weekly Shonen Jump, Magu-chan was not being the most successful one against High School Family and Me & Roboco (which apparently it's a hit among young readers). As for Protect me Shugomaru, it's still too soon to let it go.

In any case, if any of you haven't read it, just do it while lasts the "free for a year" campaign in Manga Plus.

Did you know that sales of HIgh School Family is actually lower than Magu-Chan? The recent volume 5 of HSF is ranked numbers 195 and 338 on second and third days of Shoseki rankings. It's lower than Magu-Chan's volume 7 yet I find it weird that HSF get special treatment, it ranking well on ToC than Magu-Chan and will have more chapters than Magu-Chan despite of not-so-high sales.

I'll definitely check out Akane Banashi when it premiers (presuming it premiers in english too), but I'm worried for it's future based on the premise alone ^^;
