My big question is has anyone licensed this fine manga for English? I found little on it except the movie. There is a little (Very little) out there in fan translations, but I want this one on my shelf.

Unfortunately, it's not available in English. Sad Umimachi Diary is a Shogakukan title, so Viz Media probably gets first dibs on the English license (if they're even interested)... but it can't hurt to suggest the series on Seven Seas' monthly survey, too: https://twitter.com/gomanga/status/1489383035397029889 Hopefully we'll get to read it one day!
