Really looking forward to see how this turns out. Story-wise Gundam movies tend to be more miss than hit, but this premise is one hell of an opportunity to dial down to action to a small number of big set pieces and focus more on the characters, and the small quiet moments we seldom get to see. Let's see some slice-of-life stuff! Make this the movie equivalent of War in the Pocket!

Seems like a good fit!

I'm hoping this gets dubbed if only to actually hear The Origin cast get to play their characters in the classic MSG setting instead of just a prequel. I think Lucien Dodge has played pre-Gundam Amuro and Newtype Ghost Adult Amuro but never actual Gundam pilot Amuro.

Tohru Furuya and Toshio Furukawa are still playing their roles well into their golden years. I hope they're around for a long, long time, but at some point, those characters' voices are going to need replacing. But hopefully not soon.

Same origin voice cast. Guess they dont have to worry about releasing new kits but wonder what new kits they will think about

Aaaand Takeuchi plays the big muscle guy again. Anime smile + sweatdrop

It's kind of hilarious how in the drama world he's all velvety voiced ikemen roles (no surprise, dude has a voice like chocolate honey), but in anime he keeps getting the big muscle dudes. I guess it's inevitable, this voice quality is not that common after all, but I'd hate to see him pigeonholed, I think he's one of the more talented seiyuu from the younger crop.

Seems like a good opportunity to invent some new Zaku variants. Not like there's also a full Zeon maintenance team on the island.

Not a YGO fan, I take it? Wink
Takeuchi was also known to play Revolver, one of the coolest ikemen antagonists/rivals/frenemies in YGO. That character was from YGO Vrains, the 6th entry in the franchise.

He also played Mafty member, Iram Masam in Gundam Hathaway which is another ikemen with glasses.

As for model kits, Doan's Zaku in this movie was intentionally-designed to be derpy-looking like in the original episode. Sure that's a good enough reason for a new HG kit Cool .

Well, indeed I'm not a YGO fan, but anyway - yes, I know that he has some non-muscleguy roles (I was a bit surprised to hear him in Hathaway, heh) but still, so far most of his anime roles that aren't carry-overs from voice drama/2(.5)D idol franchises are big muscle guys. Very Happy I just hope he'll manage to break out of the "ikemen"/"big guy" pigeonholes eventually. Cucuruz, at least, seems like he'll have a bit more going for him as a character than just doing big muscle guy things. Very Happy
