This has me confused, cause I thought VIZ were looking for manga-inspired creators in the West. Makes me think they're shifting focus. Like they haven't found anyone in the West worthy of publishing, so they resorted to Japanese mangaka.

Still, I'm pretty happy to see their work get published.

While its good there's more Western entries, I can't help but be reminded of the whole Tokyopop rights mess with their OEL lineup whenever it comes up in discussion, the authors couldn't even continue their own stories or use their own characters after TP collapsed.

In general, copyright/rights are at least shared with the author when it comes to Japanese mangaka, and they in general have a lot to say about the use of their works. How is Viz handling that aspect?
