Of course they were going to milk it and turn it into a trilogy

EDIT: people need to relax about my comment Anime hyper
It's obvious Square Enix is going to make as much money from FFVII considering how beloved it is. It's their cash cow and they will milk it as much as possible.
The fact people are getting legitimately angry at me suggesting the milking just shows how beloved FFVII is to the point that people will justifying one game being splits into 3 different full price games. There is also the FFVII: Crisis Core remake, FFVII: The First Soldier, FFVII Ever Crisis projects as well. FFVII fans are certainly going to be eating a lot

It's almost like we knew it would be multiple parts for like half a decade now. Your lazy cynicism is appreciated.

That scene of Cloud casually walking with Sephiroth. Is meant to be the flashback of their visit or is just Sephiroth messing with head?

Flashback. Its the story in Kalm, as long as they don't change anything about that section.

I was convinced that the second part would be titled "Remake Part 2", this was quite a surprise, I bet the third part will be called Revolution.
I wonder if the idea from the beginning was to tell the same story or the intent was always an alternate version? I haven't played the game, since I don't own a PS4, but I saw some Let's Plays and the story is not exactly the same as the original game. This FFVII project feels a lot like the Rebuild of Evangelion movies.
But will the story follow the same plot, the same scenarios of the original game? Because it seems to me that 3 games won't be enough to cover all the events of the original game with modern graphics.

Yeah we did know it was going to be multiple parts but the assumption it was just going to be 2 parts, the first covering the first half of FFVII and the second to cover the rest. Now it's being extended to an trilogy just like what happened with the Hobbit. Did the Hobbit end up well? No it didn't

Your comment was definitely very appreciative by adding nothing to the discussion.

I played the game on ps4 and without spoiling I can say that the remake goes on a diferent direction from the original. Some events change drastically, so the second part might diverge even more. I think it was intended from the start to deviate as the title was "Remake" and they're even doing the ever crisis remake for purists and one that follows the original story

Not just in your first comment but also in the bold: You're just showcasing your ignorance. How long have you been under a rock because it's clear you never played the original games nor the remake to understand that this was always going to be at least 3 games. The fact Part 1 only covered the beginning the portion of the game before you get to the world map proves you know absolutely nothing because it is only then you knew it would take at least another 2 games. The original PS1 game was 3 discs. Now this remake is 3 games. Its fitting. Nothing was milked or extended. Only your lack of knowledge on the topic sees it as that. Do research before replying. You're only embarrassing yourself.

That assumption shoud've dissipated the moment it was found out that part 1 only covered the first 1/6th of the OG VII.

That's a good analogy, but something tells me that this won't wrap up as smartly as Rebuild did (and this is coming from someone who didn't like much of what was done in most of the earlier Rebuild movies).

Yeah, you're right, I forgot the PS1 version was 3 disc but it was still one whole game. They didn't sell one disc each. You brought FFVII, you got the complete game.

The studio is selling each disc as one full $60 and that isn't milking it? FFVII remake could be completed in like 35 hours and JRPGS are usually way closer to the 100s.

They are milking what was one game and splitting into 3 different games at full price. Clearly, I'm in the wrong for even suggesting that they are doing it to just make 3x the money on a single beloved Final Fantasy IP by extending it through multiple games and spinoff projects just on FFVII alone.

I accept I am wrong, they are totally not milking FFVII

First I’ve heard of this I was always under the assumption it would have more than two parts. Things like Intergrade was….unexpected.

So I need a PS5 if I want to play the rest of this trilogy?
Terrific. Just great.
