If anyone's wondering why Sazae-san and Chibi Maruko-chan are so low compared to the usual ratings, it's due to Nippon Television running special 24 Hour Marathon programming that overlapped with Fuji TV's programming. Things should return to normal the following weeks.

Sometime it'd be neat to take the time to go back through all these rankings, as far back as ANN's got them, and collect all the weeks when something rated higher than Sazae-san.

I'm pretty sure it'd be a single-digit number.

Detective Conan and the Demon Slayer's specials (which a number of said specials aired directly after Sazae-san, in fact) are the few things that have dethroned Sazae-san. Conan at it's height used to trade blows with Sazae-san, actually, in terms of what did better each week.

I'm not even sure if there's anything else that has done it, but I'm sure there is. Unfortunately, most of my ratings data I have only goes back to 1999, but the only thing worth noting is during the earlier years in this data, Detective Conan and Sazae-san used to pull in 20-23% each week for the Kanto region.
