So, maybe a stupid question, but I have only really seen several anime showing how crazy busy it supposedly is during an event like this, my question is, is it as crazy busy like in said anime or is it exaggerated? (huge lines, barely space to move etc).

I've been to the Summer Comiket twice so yes, it used to be so busy.
Even this year Comiket has operated as a fraction of the capacity so I doubt it was as packed as before. But I expect more attendees in summer.

Depends on location, location with popular circles (the ones located near walls) or corporate booths are usually really packed. For example, two days ago Bocchi the Rock mangaka's table had to be moved outside due to the table's line getting too long.

That is both scary and impressive at the same time. It seems like reality can be as crazy as anime sometimes.
