I read all but the last manga on the list, lol.

The Darwin Incident is the best manga with A Sign of Affection behind it. Skip and Loafer is Seinen btw so that is why it´s in the "General" category. Onna no Sono no Hoshi is a Josei work so all adult manga are grouped into one. There more you know.

This, unsurprisingly, is filled to the brim with Kodansha titles. The only non-Kodansha titles are three from the Hitotsubashi Group (Tamon by Hakusensha, Hoshi by Shodensha, and Akane-banashi by Shueisha). This award is the KCAs of manga.

I hope that in Shonen wins Megumi no Daigo: Kyūkoku no Orange, in Shojo A Sign of Affection, in General Liaison: Kodomo no Kokoro Shinryōsho.

I wish good luck to all the nominees!

Yup. Shogakukan does basically the same thing though. So whatever, still interesting to see what publishers think is some of the best output (even if it's mostly confined to highlighting their own titles). Awards like Kono Manga ga Sugoi or Tsugi Kuru Manga (to name a couple I can think of/remember seeing reported on here) might offer a broader range of nominees.

Yeah, but they're not so blatant about it unlike Kodansha. For the recent edition, the Children's winner is from Shueisha and the General's winner is from Kodansha and is also nominated for this award.
