I wouldn't mind a S2 with the same length, a 24min per ep wouldn't work as well for Me & Roboco.

Not particularly, no. Its volume sales are ok for a pure gaga manga, but it's probably most valuable to Shueisha as essentially a marketing vehicle for other series. I suspect that, like with the anime being a short, the "movie" will end up being something decidedly less substantial than what that kind of announcement makes you expect.
