I'm happy the new VA for the Medicine Seller sounds just like the previews one. The visuals look stunning, they've retained the look of the TV show while also looking like a Movie version.

Kamiyan!! I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve watched something with him in it. I will admit I was hoping for Umehara because I think he’d have done a great job, but I am certainly looking forward to Kamiyan’s version of Medicine Seller.

Can't say I'm a fan of the new character designs. Looks like everyone was prettified. The original series didn't shy away from making people look average or even ugly.

For me personally, I don’t necessarily think everyone is “prettier,” but I’ve certainly noticed that the saturation has been turned way up. The original, while still very colorful, was more muted or even “dark” (darkly colorful?) at times. It’s a little jarring, but I think I like it.

Let's be honest here, I would love Umehara as well but the dude's got SO MUCH work these days, I would hate to see him overwork and back at the hospital again.

Minor thing, but Discotek released the series on Blu-ray earlier this year, too! So it's much easier to find in physical media than a 2014 release would imply.

I beg to differ. Sakurai's performance in this role may be the best work by a male voice actor I've ever heard. Listen to his pronunciation of "dangerous" at the end of the opening segment in the original "Bake Neko." The mix of humor and menace in his acting throughout this series was simply phenomenal.
