Focusing on short titles under 4 volumes long does seem like a smart move. I hope this new endeavor works out for them.
Man, it's weird how nowadays there are a bunch of different manga licensors as opposed to anime licensing companies. But blame CR's near total monopoly, I guess. |

Half of them are half a decade old titles, there rest are a decade old. None of which seem to have been previously completely scanlated, but that might be because the ratings(as far as they can be trusted at least), are low across the board. I wish them the best and wouln't mind picking one or two to check them out, but with this lineup, I have doubts... |

That is the deal when you start publishing mangas. You won't get Attack on Titan or Vinland Saga at first. Hopefully these licences will be a good and solid start that will secure more and more titles for the local market. |

Wow Bingo Morihashi wrote a manga? That's insane! He wrote Devil May Cry 2, 3, 4, 5, the Devil May Cry anime and even Bayonetta 2. Will definitely check his manga out!

This is typical for newer publishers, and honestly can still happen with older pubs. Licensing a group of relatively unknown series isn't necessarily a bad thing. Good way to get a foothold and gauge reader interest. Seven Seas has done this a lot in the past, and from experience, just because a manga has poor reviews on MAL or elsewhere does not mean it won't sell. Dime a dozen isekai and harem series are what funds the vanity and passion projects. They may not always be on a reader's radar, but they serve an important purpose. |

Love this, the more manga publishers or comic publishers getting their hands in manga publishing the better. As we'll have more selection and the different kinds of manga from the likes of old DMP, and Gen Manga from back in the day to what Glacier Bay Books, Star Fruit Books, Denpa Books/Kuma offer - though those are relatively small publishers, publishers nonetheless.
I find it interesting is that we're not seeing the manga bubble pop that happened like 13 years ago with all the manga being released, whats going on? |
