I saw the image and got worried for a brief second, thinking it was another death.

I hope this doesnt give the idea for people to have AI version of her voice (unless she agrees to it as it would make her 100 year plan possible).

Is she officially retiring though or is that just meant to be some form of tongue and cheek joke?

It's probably not a preference for Blink 182.

I realize this is supposed to be cute and not taken seriously, but...Memento Mori.

I like her moxie!

Honestly, I love how they cast her as Goku because she has a high piched voice and the character was originally a small child, and then by the time Goku grew up she had so completely embodied the role that they just went "keep doing it."

Nearly every foreign dub of Dragon Ball recasts Goku after he grows up, but you just don't do that to Masako Nozawa.

When you find out that Masako Nozawa used the Dragon Balls to extend her lifespan by 100 years!

If anyone can pull it off, it's her.

My first thought was that she had a voice AI made for herself Laughing

The video is now private, I wonder why.

Was it an official upload or a fan upload? Maybe it got copyright struck.

Problem is, even if by some miracle she did live that long, most of the fans and her fellow seiyuus wouldn't be. Our children and even our grandchildren might not see the day, maybe our great grandchildren might have a chance.

Best leave a will and pass it down the line, maybe one day our descendent will be able to see the iconic moment

It's one thing to be committed to one's work, but there is such a thing as working too much. Japan is well known in the world for having hard working folks, and each years a lot of them literally work themselves to death from all the stress and not taking enough rests. Doesn't she want to take a well deserved break? With someone of her fame it's not like taking a hiatus means she instantly becomes yesterday's news and quickly forgotten. What's the rush?

Darn it! The video was available when I last edited this article. The video itself was hosted on Oricon's YouTube channel, so it was definitely official enough, since Oricon posts videos about these kinds of events all the time as an official entertainment news source. I guess it was just meant to be a video up for a limited time, but that is just my guess.

She's probably going to give Toei permission to AI train her voice, as its impossible to live to 187 today, we aren't in the Biblical Era.

A nice sentiment on some level, but the only way that would be possible would be with AI, and I'm not sure she intends to endorse AI replacing actors.

And then after making this declaration, she pulled another "Miyazaki-ism" and proceeded to unnecessarily crap on every 'young' seiyuu in the industry for not being as awesome and hardworking as she is.
