I expected someone more famous for Misao.

Sounds like they reached a good stopping point. Guess they’ll announce season 2 at Jump Festa.

I love how they teased them all at the end to set up the Kyoto arc. They all sound pretty great.

Daiki Yamashita was well-cast.

Nakamura once again playing the mentor in a Shonen anime.

Makoto Furukawa as Shishio is unexpected but I can get behind it.

For some reason I was expecting Maaya Uchida but that would get pretty weird even by the standards of the Uchida siblings.

Daiki Yamashita as Sojiro Seta

Yūichi Nakamura as Seijuro Hiko

Oof.
I haven't been watching the reboot, partly because of that thing we all know, but also because I did give it a shot, and I thought it was utterly bland and boring, and brought nothing new or interesting to the table. But with this casting... I might just have to give it another shot...

This really comes as a surprise to no one

28 volumes of shonen can easily be adapted, especially with how action heavy the new few arcs are. Season 2 will be Kyoto and Season 3 will finally have the Jinchu arc animated. S2 and 3 in particular i have no doubt will be big hits; Kyoto has to be one of the most beloved and adapted arcs in all of shonen and anime in general.

Given his resemblance to Gojo-sensei, I thought that they were going to cast Yuichi Nakamura as Enishi by the time that they adapt his story arc LOL

I knew they changed the entire cast, but I was still hoping that Shuichi Ikeda (Char Aznable in Gundam, Shanks in One Piece) would reprise his role as Hiko Seijuro.

I like the new anime but still prefer the original. The original had great music. The musical choices for the new series seem to be heavily influenced by the OVA series and the live action movies. Not that it's a bad thing, but I still miss the random electric guitar here and there. I also think Kazuhiro Furuhashi is a superior director to the current one. But hey Furuhashi is currently killing it directing Spy x Family right now so as an anime fan we're still eating good in 2023. Smile
