They should dub this in english like other IP franchise that get anime adaption always get english dub like RWBY ice queendom, Star wars vision s1, Batman Ninja etc. They could had the dub being a union with everyone reprise their role (except roiland).

They said awhile back there would be no dub since being in Japanese is a big part of the whole idea.

Admittedly, was a bit surprised to see this preview last night while watching the S7 finale, but was happy to see it nevertheless. I do wish it was getting dubbed, but it being subbed is fine. At least the yellow subs stood out against the animation so you could actually read them. That was a problem I had with a couple of the other shorts, where the subs didn't stand out very well and I struggled to read them while trying to keep up with the action on the screen.

As someone who likes R&M and anime, I still just can't help but wonder why.

I mean I know it's easily Adult Swim's most popular show (maybe ever?) but I feel like most of the normal viewers won't be interested. So like... are they trying to hook Japanese audiences who might not have seen the show? The most overly elaborate April Fool's joke ever? I don't get it. I mean hell I'll still watch it but just... why?

Are they using the same VA's from the dub of the cartoon (assuming there is one)?

I think it comes down to them having to resort to producing their own anime to keep anime on adult swim/toonami relevant. If anything, it's probably a better bet than something new that nobody has heard of, or trying to trot out decreasingly appealing sequels.
