A demo for the game will launch in January.

As expected because Cygames wants to hold the demo until the least remaining weeks as possible instead of releasing multiple time limited demo's on PSN. Pre-orders for the game in Japan have not been good (nor overseas). In comparison, even FFXV with its development hell managed to release multiple demo's before release. Cygames having more confidence than a main FF game is so weird. They haven't gained the reputation of From Software in the console space where they can only release demo's at exclusive events like TGS, etc. then release exclusive demo's at certain stores in Japan. From knew they could do that with Armored Core VI (despite Armored Core being a niche series that was dead) because of their previous works like Souls (inc. Bloodborne), Sekiro, and Elden Ring. They knew people would automatically but it. Now VI has surpassed niche status. All Cygames did was let a bunch of streamers/YouTubers/journalists preview the game then have them spread the information. Relink needed multiple PSN demo's (whatever demo was playable at events). At least 2 would have been appropriate before the 3rd being the usual "play the beginning portion of the game and the save file can transfer to the main game on release" demo. Would this have saved the game? It never hurts to try, especially with the long development it had.
