yes,of this this cast,only Hiroki Touchi and Mitsuaki Madono have been in One Piece before.

Yes, but it's also the first time for the other guys, except for Mitsuaki Madono (who voices Apoo). And IIRC Hosoya voiced Ryuma before for a drama CD.

Not often I hear Hosoyan in this kind of role. Also have he and HanaKana been the leads together in something before?

Looks interesting as kind of an Oda "prototype" series.

Maybe it could be the case of anime visuals starting to evolve (or devolve, if you don't like it), like it is is case in every decade where anime starts to look noticeably different from how it looked before.

Myself, I think it looks rather nice, especially when compared to source material.

I find it wild, and not in necessarily a bad way, that this anime has so much chromatic aberration going on (the red and blue that can be seen at opposite edges of characters). It really is a unique visual choice.
