I don’t know why Crunchyroll has suddenly been grabbing all these unlicensed shows…but I like it!

I remember watching about one episodes of this show (not sure if I finished it).
Show was dopey but it has stayed with me forever because of the idea of how much better breast surgery would be if you could just give your boobs to someone who wanted them via boob magic transfer.

And every single one of these new catalog additions list "Gonzo" as the "Publisher", despite Gonzo not actually owning most of these shows, or were even involved in its production in any way (assistance), or was even around when some of these shows were made!

Offisde, Minky Momo, Manyu Scroll, Gestumen to Heiki Mina (OK, Gonzo did make that one)... it's pure laziness from Crunchyroll to not even bother to accurately list where all of these shows are coming from, and it just shows how little the Japanese licensors apparently care, because Crunchyroll should really be complained to by the likes of Enterbrain & Ashi Pro because they are inaccurately stating who actually owns some of these titles.

If you're wondering why Gonzo, of all companies, always gets listed, it might be due to Gonzo being one of the very first companies to ever work with Crunchyroll when it first went legit, so "Gonzo" may actually be the default choice for the "Publisher" section of each new page.

Why do they only have one episode of Maruko-chan up streaming and it's randomly episode 1419? With Minky Momo they also only added the first 15 episodes.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see this go up for streaming! Never expected I'd see it show up like this.
I've been curious about this show so I may check it out sometime.

What do you mean? Chibi Maruko-chan is a simulcast title. Episode 1419 is the most recent episode to air in Japan. It wasn't random.
Minky Momo's a catalog title, which makes sense to put up in batches.

Technically true, but Manyu's production studio was founded by ex-GONZO staff, so it's GONZO in spirit, in the same loose and twisted way one might call Kanokon a Production I.G show.

You don't seem to get what I'm saying, because that's a somewhat irrelevant response, as I'm not talking about Manyu Scroll "feeling" like a Gonzo show; I'm talking about who literally owns the rights to the show itself. Gonzo has no rights to the show (its sole involvement was assisting on a literal single episode), so Crunchyroll shouldn't be listing Gonzo as the publisher for it on its own official streaming listing. The same is true for Offside & Minky Momo, which both also list Gonzo as the publisher, despite Gonzo having 100% no relation to either show, and instead should likely be listing Ashi Productions as Publisher.

Crunchyroll seems to have "Gonzo" as the default option for the "Publisher" label when it creates new listing, and instead of accurately listing where each of these new catalog additions are coming from, all of these titles are instead just using the default, even if it's incorrect. In other words, Crunchyroll isn't even bothering to click on the Publisher drop menu when making these new catalog listings. It's honestly terribly lazy behavior from Crunchyroll that's not being dealt with because the licensors themselves don't seem to care, or at the very least are not being informed of this because I wouldn't expect them to double-check if it's correct on their own... because they shouldn't have to. Crunchyroll should be trusted to accurately list who owns what for each anime's listing.

However, if something like Naruto was listed as having Toei as its Publisher, then I'm sure that'd be fixed ASAP.

Don't get me wrong, I understood what you were saying, completely! I just thought I'd flex some of my studio knowledge by noting that Manyu Hikencho's connections to Gonzo were closer than those of your other examples, if only in that Hoods Entertainment split off from Gonzo in the late '00s, that's all. My sincerest apologies if my wording made me sound ignorant, that happens to me a lot on this site. Anime smallmouth + sweatdrop

It finally happened. I had been wanting to watch this back when it aired, but nobody ever picked it up. As the years went by showing a lack of interest, it was looking like if it was ever going to come here, it'd be only through Media Blasters, who licensed like Eiken back in the day and re-released it on Blu-ray a few years ago.

On the one hand, they're finally getting legal streams. On the other, if you want to own these titles on disc, you're SOL. Stuff like Dog & Scissors, Gravion, Leviathan, Offside, Zaion: I Wish You Were Here, none of them have gotten disc releases from FUNimation nor Crunchyroll after FUNimation bought them and rebranded as Crunchyroll, LLC. Side-note, they have no releases scheduled for April 2024 as they continue to say "ANIME FANS WIN!".

I'm hoping they got only streaming rights to these, because if home video was bundled or something, it's basically SOL. This title for home video basically had become Media Blasters or bust as it looked like both Discotek and Sentai weren't interested, FUNimation stopped caring about catalog titles for home video ages ago, and Crunchyroll didn't care about home video until 2016, and focused just on new titles.
