I'm more intrigued by what Yuniko Ayano is cooking in this original anime while we bide our time until BanG Dream Ave Mujica comes out next year.

Looks like standard P.A. Works far, but that's not a bad thing. Also being the first series in a while (maybe since Yuki Yuna is a Hero?) to feature a wheelchair-bound character in the core cast is interesting.

I would have been more exited if not the need to watch "It's MyGO" first. I am just not the fan of them as a characters and the style of music producers chose for the group.

But eh. The taff choose once again a more "safe" group as the mains and made the more interesting one sort of antaginists.

I liked (most of) PA Works' 2010-2020 and considered it one of my favorite studios because of the great art and animation designs, but also because they were one of the few studios to regularly set their shows outside Tokyo. But their stuff since? Have not been a fan and this seems cut from a similar cloth. I guess they are never going back to stuff like A Lull In The Sea, Another, Kuromukoro or Sirius The Yaeger. I get that Fairy Gone tanked hard for them, but that was no reason to totally shift gears like this.

Maybe I will finally watch Angel Beats and Another, which appear to be their most popular works but I never got around to seeing for reasons, as a sign off to a studio whose new projects I once always looked forward to.

P.A. Works haven't done anything legitimately great since The Eccentric Family's 2nd season. Sirius The Yaeger has potential but needed to be way longer. And so on and so forth.

The million dollar question here is - do we really want yet another watered down Hanasaku Iroha? Sakura Quest already tried the 99% female cast thing and was middling at best. The Aquatope on White Sand - another snoozer that did nothing interesting with the cast or setting.

Hoping I'll be proven wrong here, but we'll just have to see how the cards fall.

Even if you were to somehow discount Aquatope as boring & with untapped potential, which ok... sure (I mean I'll concede the yuri-bait accusations hold some weight at least), they've had Skip & Loafer, Akiba Maid War & Ya Boy Kongming in the last few years alone coming out to high praise, with Appare Ranman & Buddy Daddies being cult successes at the very least. What are you talking about?

Sure, the very late 2010's were a pretty rocky spell, but a few Irudokus & Fairy Gones does not an extended drought make. Unless you really want more Morimi-based adaptations, or for Okada to mine her approach to high school angst from 10-15 years ago, at which point your needs may be a little too specific for any studio to cater for.

We'll see if the show itself is good or not, but the staff is incredibly strong & the approach of seemingly melding Okada-era teen melodrama with post-Shirobako career-based women is smart of paper. I'm seeing far more to be hopeful about here than cynical.

Doing parkour in a short skirt seems like how you get arrested for public indecency

Anna Aveiro? Am I about to see a Portuguese character in anime? Oh this sounds promissing. The seiyuu is of Brazilian descent, so she may know how to speak Portuguese (albeit a distinct form of Portuguese with its own vocabulary and strongly distinct accent). We spell the name as Ana, though. Maybe she's Brazilian instead. What I am certain though, knowing my anime tropes, is that it's the blonde and blue-eyed one.

Cute girls do parkour? Or is it just the one girl who does parkour while the rest have their own thing?

And the foreign character has a VA of Brazilian descent?

(For the record, I liked Iroduku...)
