Not a huge surprise considering both VAs are very active and still appear in Dallas dubs/reprisal roles fairly consistently, but still nice to have confirmed. Really interested to hear Greenbaum’s take on the script as well since Jamie Marchi’s work on the original show was one of my favorite things about the dub as a whole looking back. Her work on shows like this (or similarly Snow White with the Red Hair and Ancient Magus Bride later on) was just so well done.
ETA - Since the CR post lists Michelle Rojas who's directing just the first episode or two - Caitlin Glass is directing the full series, which is a great choice! I loved her work on the Fruits Basket and Ranking of Kings dubs, and its nice that this is a genre departure from her most recent directing work on Solo Leveling. The way this series is being handled brings me so much joy! The OGs coming back for both the Japanese and English dub really is a treat for everyone. I am happy people can experience the show like we did all those years ago but hopefully this time seeing it finish its story!

I wonder if Palencia and Tatum will reprise their roles in Black Butler too. Or will they hold off on doing a simuldub for that, and do a delayed dub.

I love the English VA for Holo.
The demeanor of the smug wise wolf fits her voice far better. I think I'll get used to it, but the original sounds too cute and high. But, when?! |

"Simuldub" as in the dub for Black Butler will start in 2 weeks after it starts airing in sub, not as in it will be a literal same-day dub. |

I realize I'm probably in the minority here, but the way Holo's English VA says the character's name makes me cringe every time. Specifically, the way she extends and then dipthongs both vowels: "I am Ho-oo lo-oo the Wise Wolf." It just sounds so... American.
(I know, I know, it's a silly thing. I blame my old voice teachers for beating the dipthongs out of me.) That said, I'm very glad the original cast members are returning! |
