I would've loved to know if they're going to release the last 2 volumes of Gunsmith Cats Burst. Hopefully they'll be at Anime Boston and I can inquire there.

Edit: Actually, nix that. I checked the Releases info and vol 4 is marked for Sept 16th this year. My prayers have been answered, even if I have to wait 4 months. Very Happy

“I think there's only one word for this,” Horn joked while introducing Thumbelina. “It's a three letter word, it starts with an M, ends in an E, and there's an O in the middle.”

Lol Darkhorse! I'm glad that the company is brave enough to admit that they're licensing moe stuff, I doubt Funimation will be using that word when they talk about Strike Witches. I wish I could've been at the panel myself, to ask questions about Empowered.

*raises eyebrow* They printed all four of Clover's volumes into one volume PLUS twenty pages of color art PLUS it's not flipped yet in English?
Dang, I might need to pick that up after all. I mean, even if I don't like it I'm sure I could sell it and that sounds like a really good deal.

I wonder if Translucent was dropped.

I'm wondering about Translucent as well, since I remember them mentioning that it would come back this year - actually, this month, if memory serves me correctly.

One of the most anticipated titles from Dark Horse's manga line, the book...was originally solicited for release way back in November of 2005 before seeing lengthy production delays.

I've been waiting a year now for the Amnesia novel, myself...

Horn closed his presentation with a brief aside stating the importance of paying for manga, and how American royalties directly affect the lives of Japanese creators,

Wow, I feel great helping out Japan.

On a related note, he also shared that he believes Dark Horse's bestselling titles, Lone Wolf and Cub and Blade of the Immortal, succeed because they appeal to traditional American comics fans in addition to a strictly manga audience.

I think those appeal more to the Miller comic book fans than the superhero fans.

I probably should give up the ghost, but I'm wondering if they're ever going to release more of Shadow Star.

I've heard it gets kind of extreme in later volumes, so even I'm a bit timid about it, but overall I'm still interested enough to want to see more of it. Here's hoping.

Actually, it's 20 pages of color story art...the image gallery in the back is probably another 20 pages, easily. And having held the book in my hand, it really does look fantastic. It's also the size of a freakin' brick...you could totally bludgeon somebody over the head with it. Y'know...if you wanted to. Laughing I'm only a casual CLAMP fan, but one look at that book and I was like "Yeah...I think I need to buy this."

I'm fairly certain that they've said before that they won't release any more of the series, but I can't find where I read that on the internets this morning...

I like Dark Horse, they definitely make their manga worth it; great translations, great series, and I've never been disappointed by the printing quality either. They're doing a way better job than tokyopop in my eyes. Probably gonna pick up that Clover omnibus, too.

With all the interest in older titles, Horn seems to have forgotten about "Your Under Arrest".

I'd love to see more You're Under Arrest, but apparently Kosuke Fujishima won't let the series be licensed because he's embarassed by his early artwork. Which sucks, because the little bit that did get released here was great!
