Y'know I've heard of this manga and have been curious about whether it was any good. But the live-action movie they plan to make is making me consider giving the story a try.

I wouldn't mind seeing it. I like crazy comedies.

Admittedly, I read up to about volume nine, and then got lazy with that whole reading thing. I like to buy my manga, and I'm kind of a poor and unemployed teenager, so... Razz
I do love this series, though, and for the longest time I followed it religously. I'm so glad there's gunna be a movie Very Happy FRICK YEAH! Very Happy
It might be the fact that I'm really a dog person, though... anyway, Inu Baka is great, and and really exited. Smile

It's a generally cute and care-free series with some occasional dark undertones. It also suffers from unnecessary panty shots, but since it's from a female writer, I'm assuming they're intentionally done as spoofs of other manga which rely on that gimmick, since, unlike other manga, you never see up her skirt whenever a guy tries to embarrass her, or when she's just not paying attention. Oh, yeah, dogs. The best part of the manga is when readers from Japan and even S. Korea send pics of their pups at the end of each volume. The worst part is some of the Jem and the Holograms-inspired situations [I.E. competitions with different 80s-wannabe outfits.] you see her in at times. But they do actually treat dog-care with a certain amount of respect; so owners might get some good tips out of this manga. Casual readers tired of high school settings can appreciate a book geared more towards 20-something wage-earners. Anyway, I'm just wondering if her dog will still be named Lupin in this version.

If you're at all a dog person, you'd get the hugest kick out of the manga. Seriously, I feel like petting all the dogs I meet in this manga even though they're just images on print pages. And the storyline is really heading somewhere with Suguri trying to make the pet store she works for survive against the bigger, more advanced one that opened across the street. It has its funny and engaging moments, and it's one of those manga where I feel I really care about the characters. Having said that, I'm very interested in the film version.

I haven't read any of Inubaka yet, nor have I heard of Suzanne prior to this, but seems there is some pretty high praise for it so I'll have to check it out. And a live-action movie with lots of dogs? Sounds good to me, if only for the dogs. ^-^

Wow, that's pretty exciting. I enjoy the manga, so I hope the film is good. Here's hoping I'll actually get to see it someday.

This is exciting. I love the manga, and am a dog-lover in general, so watching a film with a lot of dogs should be wonderful.

I've read I think up to volume 4 or 6. I skim read the manga but I will want to read it more because I am a dog person and the fact there's hot girls in the series.

Doesn't "Inubaka" mean "stupid dog" (actually dog stupid but that doesn't make any sense)?

Literally translated it is dog-stupid, as in "stupid for dogs." Or, rendered into idiomatic English, "crazy for dogs." "Stupid dog" would be baka-inu.

Let's see if the lead actress spoiler[dares to pick up doggie poo with bare hands and feels happy when dogs pee on her] like Suguri does in manga.

This is one of the few manga titles I collect and I really like it. I'm really not too crazy for live action features and would have rather seen this show up as an anime series. However, I might give it a watch when it gets it's release.
