Moe is an acquired taste but Haruka is one that I have enjoyed. The CrunchyRoll Vice President of Licensing mentions:
"What is interesting is that it is about a girl who is afraid of being caught as being a mega anime fan and deals with these topics as an anime itself."

It represents something real: being an otaku but fearing people will think you are freak for it. Being an anime fan or a fan of anything geeky is something one really shouldn't be ashamed of (maybe sometimes you should be cautious). Plus, I can be a sucker for romance/harem/ecchi/moe anime.
