Despite my best efforts, I fail to understand why Viz has not licensed New York, New York and Shanimuni Go for a (legal) English translation of these series. I would love to see the Baby & Me anime. Marimo Ragawa is always able to make very compelling manga, this new series sounds quite interesting too! Razz

I second the desire for the Baby & Me anime, but do you think 90's slice of life anime about a kid raising his baby brother will draw a sufficient audience in today's market? There was a Buried Treasure article on here a year or two back, and after that, I looked and there weren't even any fansubs, let alone DVDs of it...

Actually, I too would like to see the Baby & Me anime. That manga was the only one in the initial Shojo Beat line-up that interested me, which was pretty surprising as I usually have zero interest in stories revolving around children. I really can't recommend the Korean movie version as it basically changed almost everything about the series, thus completely losing its charm (they made it into "bad-ass high school boy finds & is forced to care for an infant"-- not his sibling, just a random infant left with him -- so, pretty much absolutely nothing like the manga and not even very interesting as a movie, period). Okay, enough griping. Anyway, I was surprised to see how different the Baby & Me art is from the new series, but I guess I shouldn't be considering how much time has elapsed.
