Just a bit of info I managed to pull out of the magazine article for Guilty Crown:

>Director of Death Note
>Writers of Code Geass
>Noitamina
>Production IG

The story takes place in Tokyo in 2039. After the outbreak of the unidentified virus "Lost Christmas" in 2029, Japan has been under the control of a multi-nation organization called GHQ. Ohma Shu is a 17 year old boy who has a psychic power in his right hand. He can use the power "Ability of King" to extract tools or weapons from his friends. He has been avoiding making trouble for others but his life changes when he meets a girl Yuzuriha Inori, a member of a resistance guerrilla group called "Undertaker", whose members pilot mecha weapons to fight against the government.

very typical, except for the power to make weapons of friends, which might be rendered differently than previous godlike powers from anime... the rest depends on how intricate the scenario will be or not...

animations should be superb anyway...

Looks like Noitamina is shaping up again, and without relying on romance. That's good.

most of shonen "romances" are ridiculous and artificial... the guy/boy hangs out around girl without making any advances to have intimate relationship with her... boys do not usually hang out with girls much unless they want to have sex with them or they are gay...

Well, it's not like Shojo romances aren't...in fact, it's worse.

Josei is probably the genre you're looking for if you want a bit more "realistic" romance.

Stupidest thing I've heard all day. I'm straight and I have plenty of friends who are girls of which I have no sexual desire towards. Surprised

1) i said "usually", and,
2) heroines are portrayed to be "super hot" in the anime...
3) what do hang out with these girls about? football?.. baseball?.. or buying shiny purses? high heeled shoes?

so most of romances in shonen anime show highly atypical situation...
