they ruined this beautiful manga with the 2nd season... yet they did another slaughter with the 3rd season...
And they still doing a 4th one ? They never learned from they mistakes ?

ps: I know it's a new staff, but the artworks are far from appealing... :'(

People kept on buying it regardless of your perceived dip in quality.

Indeed. Well since when quality has anything to do with sales? In the past maybe, nowadays definitely no.

In this day and age is all about consumerism, its all about consume, consume, consume, consume regardless of anything else, particularly quality.

So yes, we humans are strange creatures, people consume for the hell of it, for consumerism's sake. Intelligent consumers are a thing of the past. Particularly in anime, all it takes nowadays is have "certain elements" to have high chances of high sales, most of those "certain elements" have little to do with "quality"...at least what we perceived as "quality" in the not so long past, it could be better said that what we perceive as "quality" nowadays has simply changed, if its good or bad it depends on each individual.

umm... people don't consume regardless of quality. No one thinks "I hate this show, but I'm going to buy it because I want to burn money"

Anyways, I still Minami-ke. It's a lot of fun. But I'm with minirop in that I don't find the subsequent season's character design as appealing as the first. They don't turn me off, but just not as aesthetically pleasing or fitting to the theme.

You should really watch the OVA- Omatase. It's pretty brilliant and matches the first season quite well.

And the art is fine- your regular awesomeness from studio feel. But that is just me voicing my opinion on it.

Plus, Hayate Director > all.

The second season was indeed a little less than the first, but I think the third was back to the same level of fun.

Not really. If you look at this you'll see that there's a sharp dip in sales between the original and Okawari/Okaeri. The executives behind the decision to use Asread instead of Daume for the follow-up series likely lost out on quite a lot of money. But luckily that same Daume staff went on to make the Yuru Yuri adaptation so their talent was not entirely put to waste.

As for feel's adaptation, I enjoyed the OVA. I'm looking forward to the new season (maybe I'll even call it season two) but as always with a certain amount of trepidation.

If this is even close to the quality and humor of the first season, I'm in. It's a tall order seeing how the first season is some of the funniest shit I've seen in years but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

While I agree that the first season of Minami-ke was the funniest, I really didn't find the 2nd or 3rd to be THAT much worse. Really, I enjoyed all three of them and am looking forward to this one as well.

But I don't read manga, so maybe my preconceptions weren't as high. Still, I think saying they 'slaughtered' it with the 2nd season is a bit harsh - they were all good from my standpoint, even if not quite as good as the first.

Season one was the best, no doubt. Season two sucked. Season three was slightly better than the second. I will hope for the best, but we'll see how well done it is. The recent OVA was pretty good as well.

The parts about seasons 1 and 2 that really annoyed me were the fact that it was somehow needed to have drama included into the series... I mean the REASON I watched this series is because I like the manga and it has practically no drama... I often found myself skipping entire episodes due to the useless drama.

So people out there... keep your drama away from my Minami-ke!!!!
