Have to agree with the clunky info-dump about the mechanics of Manji's immortality. That stuff should have been explained a lot earlier and in a more natural way, the way it was added was closer to the half-assed way shonen stories generally introduce that kind of things.
Other than that, really good stuff from this series as always. Couldn't stop reading it once I started, and when I was done I went back and read the volumes again. Anyone that likes fighting manga but is tired of the usual shonen stuff should absolutely give this one a try. |

Blade of the Immortal was the first manga I bought almost 20 years ago. It's exciting to see that it's nearing the end and that the end will probably be frickin' awesome. (Now all I have to do is hope to see the conclusion of Berserk, HunterxHunter, and Genshiken before I die...). I really enjoyed reading the review. It's nice to see an "old school" title getting some love. |
