The k-on! movie was only 2 years ago. Either way, even with if it is adjusted for inflation, the madoka movie will no doubt beat k-on!(its already really close to 2.000.000.000 yen). |

Be happy for them both.
K-ON was just a side-story fun thing whereas from what I've heard Madoka 3 is a sequel that continues where the series (and compilation movies) left off. Given how much more BluRay sales the Madoka TV series had than K-ON already I'm somewhat surprised it took this long to top K-ON's box office total given the similar number of screen showings. |
