I'm halfway through watching this series right now. Impressive and refined...

In other news, what's the over/under for Media Blasters' lifespan now? 6 months?

It's good that the show got relicensed. It's one of my favorite pretend-historical fantasy anime.

Hopefully some more Media Blasters titles can be rescued/re-licensed by Viz Media and other leading companies, especially Bakuman's dub. Smile

So that's why Media Blasters' Blu-Ray release became so hard to find.

When did Media Blasters lose the rights to this exactly? I think I just watched through this early last year on Hulu and it still said Media Blasters...man it must've been picked up pretty fuckin' quick!

I guess it's good news and bad news for me. Picked up part 2 of the media blasters bluray for real cheap new, but part 1 is out of print and selling for 40 dollars.

Thought I was going to have to pay through the nose for it guess now prices for it might come down now.

But now do I wait for the Viz release and sale the part 2 I already have or do I try to find another part 1 media blasters copy for a ok price and be done with it and have it now?

Since it got pulled without warning from Crunchyroll mid-December, I'd say around then.

Hopefully this means a Bakuman license rescue down the road.

Yeah let's hope this happen, Viz has the license to the manga, maybe Viz could get the license to the anime (them or Funimation).

I bought this entire DVD set for $10, brand new.

Though very stunning visually, with great character design, animation, art and great music too, I was bored to tears with this show. I remember fast forwarding the last 13 episodes on 2X speed, just to get through it and finish it.

I doubt I'll ever re-watch this, but to the fans of this show, this is great news and I bet it will look even better on Blu-Ray on a nice HDTV.

Good to see this masterpiece continue to be distributed I guess, bad that Media Blasters had to sell it off or let it go though.
