Without a second thought, I knew who would be at the top of the list. But I guess there are few choices Sentai has for young boy characters...

A predictable cast from Chris Ayres once again. He always uses the same 30 something actors/actresses in all of his dubs. The man needs to some damn diversity when it comes to his casting choices. I don't know where the hell Steven Foster has been this year. He hasn't directed a dub since last year. I wouldn't mind seeing a new dub from him simply because he casts interesting actors that no one else casts like Patrick Poole, Joshua Sheltz, Cameron Bautsch and Tyler Galindo. I wish Sentai would throw him a bone because I've grown weary of the recent dubs from Chris Ayres they lack excitement and simply aren't fresh sounding anymore.

Are you joking? Foster is no better than Ayres at anything. They both put out the same lazy shit, with EXTREMELY rare exceptions.

Foster recently did the Medaka Box dub, and it's easily the worst I've ever heard.

A while back Sentai hinted on their facebook page that Log Horizon would probably get the full treatment (DVD & Blu-ray with dub).

It's possible maybe Foster is directing it and being a large show is taking up a lot of time?

Sentai doesn't seem to give special treatment to any of their dubs (all recorded quickly compared to other studios) but since many fans consider it to be better than Sword Art Online maybe Sentai will put some effort into its dub production to try and one-up it; and perhaps try and get it on Toonami.

Steven Foster directed The Garden of Words dub which I found to be quite excellent I don't find either one to be horrible directors they have their moments where they are quite good. My problem is with the predictable casting choices from Chris not his directing skills. He is a competent ADR Director always has been.

You're not going to get better casting from Foster for TV series. He's going to give you the exact same slop that Ayres gives you.

His Garden of Words dub had a LOT of serious issues with it that completely ruined the movie. No sane person would ever want to ask for anything from him.

Oh man, Sentai really does suck. FUNimation > Aniplex > Bandai/Media Blasters/other > Sentai Filmworks.

Maybe Sentai should stary using women to voice young boys. It worked with for FUNimation with Black Butler (as well as other series, of course).

Hmm the biggest challenge for log horizon for the dub is the sheer amount of characters that are present within the story, not just the main characters but also in the future as more will show up in the second season and the third season eventually. Mamare has written a diverse amount of characters that each one plays a vital role in the story, so it is going to be difficult to find a dub for each one, i really hope we dont see a lot of repetition, that is what i am worried about,

Apparently not Laughing . Other studios like this one pick around the exact same actors for the exact same characters IMO. But fans/haters always point the finger at Sentai. But at least Chris has gone away from the Kokoro Connect casting with the main 5. I can at least give criticism on that.

Looks like Beth Lazarou is getting a bigger role now. I hope she mixes her tone from Maria Holic and Uppote.

Houston Hayes? Never recalled in some of his stuff, so I wonder if he will get a big role. Not really a recycling when there voices have not been mentionable no?

Don't think ALL of them lacked excitement from my book considering that I like the dub of From the New World so far. But I really agree with you with Steven Foster making some more dubs. Its really something that titles like Btoom, Garden of Words, Kill Me Baby and Nyankoi which all 4 had great dubs IMO. Yet he just stopped all of a sudden after that.

Well I have his full support and hope he just flips off the fans/haters that despise him and continue to make some great work since he was getting gold after the whole Medaka Box incedent where I consider half the backlash to be really unecessary talent-wise IMO.

O rly? Let me at them. I watched them ALL and survived with a smile on my face. In a reaction that I adored them. Wink

I don't understand myself sometimes in why I like Sentai dubs. Its not like the non conformist ideology. Yet I originally watched all dubs from Funimation, and then. Suddenly after watching H.O.T.D. and Angel Beats dubbed AFTER watching both whole sub. I jumped ship cause I loved them. Please fix me Hojo sensei like ya did sephiroth's mama Embarassed

Ooh! Ooh! Me! I'm happy it's getting a dub!

Frankly, Greg Ayres is one of my favorite voice actors so I am 100% behind him as Shino. I also like seeing Illich Guardiola in there.

The last Sentai dub I listened to was Tsuritama's and I enjoyed it alot so I have high hopes for this one.
