I joked on Twitter that even Celty would choose BBB over Durarara!!x2 Ten, but I'm still bummed we have to wait so long for the finale! Laughing

It seems that Durarara!!x2 will take longer to air as a result of this time conflict.

On a side note...

I guess this would be the one time Japan would actually need the features of the Xbox One.

^ It's just to show that the show is going to be aired at 02:28 am.

This is common in late night programs.

To clarify further, it's done because late-night programming is considered part of the previous day's programming. Kinda like how Swimnami is considered Saturday night programming, even though it airs on Sunday morning. So this starting at 26:28/02:28am is the same as saying that One Piece airs at 26:30 on Swimnami.

Ah, so that's how they do this...In that case, I might as well pretend it's still Sunday when it's past midnight. Wink

So this is the reason for BBB's final episode's delay. I am still bummed by the delay, but at least it does not seem to be because of production issues.

Ah, the dreaded recap episodes. Unfortunate, but not an uncommon occurence when production lags a bit behind by unforeseen circumstances. That said, what's going on the 28th? The article mentions the 21st and the 4th but it skips a full weekend without any explanation.

Also it is very peculiar that the article mentions that the DRRR website did not update. Why would there be any need for an update? It's not the DRRR premier that is being moved. That was already scheduled well ahead of time, so why in the world does ANN think there should be an update or at least point out that the website has not been updated?

What do you mean? If I understand correctly, the scheduling conflict is because of the delay, not the other way round. There would have been no conflict if they just aired the finale on the 27th. Why else would they have delayed it by a week on top of another week lost to a recap episode if not because of production issues?

MBS scheduled Durarara!!x2 Ten on July 4 at 26:28.
MBS scheduled Blood Blockade Battlefront on July 4 at 26:28.

Something has to move.

Jesus, just say "Toonami." It took me longer than it should have to figure out to what you were referring. I thought it might have been some block on Japanese TV.

Wow, you're the first person I've seen who didn't know that "Swimnami" is shorthand for "Toonami on [adult swim]". I picked it up because everyone I see uses it. You didn't need to insult me.

It's a useless portmanteau, since there's only one "Toonami" and it airs on Adult Swim.

And I didn't insult you. If you felt insulted, that's on you.

I see reading continues to be a problem these days but yeah, BBB is getting two episodes delayed, one by a clip show and one in a bye week which brings it into conflict with the following season's D!!X2 2 premier which then further pushes BBB's finale along another day on Tokyo MX.

As for some writing issues, no, this would not change D!!X2 2's schedule under normal business practices and there's no need to for that show to update anything online as I would think they're still negotiating for their agreed upon timeslot with MBS. I'd say the real problem here is that MBS hasn't changed their schedule in favor of the show that doesn't have production issues.

Still, the article doesn't clearly state when MBS had planned to penalize D!!X2 2 by showing its premier the following week or following day.
