I get that they're trying to recreate the original, but there were multiple teams they could have used, and I have a big problem with them using Trini. There were other Yellow Rangers, and to use a character whose actress died bothers me a lot.

They'd better pay tribute to Thuy Tranh properly. Otherwise... this seems like a disaster about to happen.

I think it would be more insulting to the actress to leave her character out (it's a reboot anyway) besides it's supposed to be the original 5, Trini is kind of needed (and honestly Aisha was not very interesting) |

Power Rangers already "reboots" itself every time they introduce a new cast, which is frequent. There's really no need for them to resurrect an old one with different actors.

Would be interesting if they made Billy gay considering that they kicked out the original actor from the role for being gay.

I'm more annoyed that they were saying ages ago that it wasn't a reboot, that it was set in the universe of the TV show. Clearly that's not true.

Why am I not surprised that Jason David Frank is going to appear in the film. xD He's like in nearly every Power Ranger special that involves past cast members.
(Still jealous one of my friends got to meet him at an MMA tournament years ago)
I though it was more of " him being called a certain insult one too many times by the show staff (not including the other Rangers, IIRC), and he basically quit/walked off the set", which they [show creators/staff] basically wrote off/got rid of his character in a silly/weird way. Not that it makes it any less worse - I was so sad when I watched the video where he explains why he left the show. I give him props for being on the series as long as he was, considering. |

Wouldn't that be like being upset that they remade Miracle on 34th Street several times and still called Natalie Wood's and subsequently Mara Wilson's characters Susan Walker even though Natalie Wood drowned though? I do agree with Lactobacillus yogurti that an "In Memory of Thuy Trang 1973 – 2001" dedication should at least be in the credits though. |

So terrible. Yeah I can back this up from what I read the other rangers never gave him trouble, it was other staff. Still I would like to see a gay Billy, it would be a nice way to come full circle and give a nod to fans who know the actor's background. I read somewhere else that Kimberly and Jason are a couple in this. A little bummed if true I always thought she went well with Tommy. |

B...but...the nostalgia! Hmm, and those character descriptions. Everyone is "broken" in some way, and 3 of them have "secrets". 
Honestly, I remember next to nothing...when it comes to the original Power Ranger characters. It was all about the fights and costumes for me. Which is why I like Tommy. To this day, love that Green Ranger costume! |

I want to believe Kimberly's secret is parents got divorced like in the original series. But who knows, maybe they'll make a twist on that too. Maybe Mr. Hart was on the DL or something.
I'm not too offended that Trini is in the series even though Thuy Trang is no longer with us. Saban had an episode of Time Force in memory for her a long time ago... And frankly, a really appropriate episode at that. I feel that they will respect the character properly. |

So exactly how does this work for Jason...? He "blows out his knee" thus ending his football career yet he is magically able to karate kick, roundhouse kick, run, jump, etc as a Power Ranger... 0_o
